From Sea to Shore - Meeting the Challenges of the Sea
The tenth ICE Coasts, Marine Structures and Breakwaters conference took place in Edinburgh on 18-20 September 2013. It was the biggest in the history of the event series, attracting over 450 international delegates to the world class EICC.
The Breakwaters conference series has become the leading forum for the presentation of the latest developments in coastal and maritime engineering – this year saw 130 peer viewed papers presented over the three days.
In addition to the main programme the conference ‘Fringe’ also allowed a number of short rapid-fire presentations on breaking news or work-in-progress announcements.
A busy technical exhibition was another key feature of the conference with 45 international companies coming to display their latest solutions and technologies.
A first class conference dinner at the iconic Balmoral Hotel, technical visit to the Forth bridges, and a pre-conference short course ensured that delegates were able to make the most of their stay in Scotland’s historic capital.
Photos from the first day of the conference are available here.
Access to the papers are available for paid delegates here.
Full conference proceedings are going to be available in 2014 – to express an interest in ordering a copy click here.
The next ICE call for papers conference will be Coastal Management 2015 which is taking place in November 2015. Prospective authors will be invited to submit papers from February 2014. More information can be found at ice-coastalmanagement.com
